Treasures of New York: Settlement Houses wins Best Locally Produced Show Award from New York State Broadcasters Association!

Congratulations Rebecca Fasanello!!

Treasures of New York is a great show which runs on PBS. In New York, it runs on WLIW21 and on Channel 13.

Over a year ago, I was contacted by Rebecca Fasanello, who wanted to do a show on Settlement Houses.  They fascinated her. She really believed in the work they were doing. She literally visited every one of them. I have been on the Board of Directors of the Supportive Children’s Advocacy Network, a Settlement House which does work in East Harlem and the South Bronx for over a decade. After speaking to her, I too wanted to make her vision a reality. I told her that I would love to participate and asked others to do the same. I was proud to work with her and to be a part of the amazing show she put together profiling Settlement Houses! It was great to see her build her vision, one brick at a time! Because of her, many more people now know about the amazing work being done all over New York City to help New Yorkers in need! She will be the Keynote speaker at the United Neighborhood Houses Settlement House Day in June!
